Living in fear
“For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” Psalm 91:11
Do you live in fear? Do you worry what is around the next corner, what life will bring next? In many ways, we have become a “fear-based” society. Because of what we read about and hear about, we feel increasingly less secure, and we will, at times, take extreme measures to protect ourselves. And although the threats are real and increase every day, here is the comfort for those who know the Lord: God is always working behind the scenes, keeping us from danger and providing guidance for things that have not even yet occurred. God has promised to protect us. The entire host of heaven is assigned to watch over God’s children. No matter how large or how small the threat, God is aware of it, and God has managed it for us. The world lives in fear, because the world seems out of control. But we serve a God who has control over the entire world and over every circumstance of our lives. And as a result, God’s people have nothing to fear.
