“Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” Habakkuk 3:18

Do you have joy? Not just happiness, but a true, heart-felt joy? Our world can be a sad place; we read of the tragedies that occur world-wide, and it is difficult in those times to find anything to be joyful about. Our happiness is often overwhelmed by the sadness that we or someone we care about experiences. But the wonderful thing about God’s word is that it always gives us a completely different perspective, because it shows us things from God’s point-of-view. And the Bible says, in spite of the circumstances, we can still have joy, but there are some requirements that must be fulfilled in order to experience that joy. When our faith is in the Lord, when our eyes are always fixed on Him, when we trust His plan without wavering, it is then, and only then, that we can experience true joy. We must believe that God has a plan and that His plan is being worked out perfectly in our world and in our lives, even when it may seem that they opposite is true. Happiness may come and go, but we can have pure, unending joy, as we place our faith in our God and in His perfect plan for us.
