Right and wrong
“And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord.” 2 Kings 15:34
The line between right and wrong has become much less defined over the years. In the past, it seemed like there was more agreement among people as to what was right and what was wrong. And it seemed that people, as a whole, were more committed to doing what was right. Today, however, it seems that people are able to justify almost any behavior, and right and wrong is now often defined by each individual. And as is usual, the Bible stands in stark contrast to the thought of the day. The Bible teaches that there is a clear, absolute definition of right and wrong, and God is the One who determines it. If it is right in God’s eyes, then it is right; if it is wrong in God’s eyes, then no matter what anyone else says, no matter what the opinion of the society or the culture, it is wrong. God and His word is the absolute standard of right and wrong. So if you want to be sure your behavior is always right, allow God to define it for you through His word, and then accept that definition as absolute. Then, no matter what anyone else says, you can be sure that you will always be on the right side.
