“Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.” Proverbs 4:14

If you have ever hiked in the woods, then you are aware that, along the way, there are trail markers to help you stay in the path. Those markers are there so that we don’t lose our way and wind up getting lost. And so, when hiking in the woods, it is wise to keep a careful watch for those markers, and to follow their direction. Otherwise, there is a good chance that we will take the wrong path and wind up lost or in danger. Life is the same way. One of the great benefits of knowing Jesus Christ as Savior is that, once we make that decision, God sets up “trail markers” for us, so that we stay on the right path, the path that He has designed for us. And from God’s point of view, the wrong path is always the one that follows evil, and the right path always is the one that abides by the principles He has established for us in His word. Following the right path will keep us from harm and will assure us that we are in His will. So, the question is, which path are you on today? Are you following the “trail markers” God has set up for you? It is always the right choice to align our path with the direction God provides for us.
