“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

Prices are rising every day. There is hardly a day that goes past where we don’t hear someone commenting on the high cost of something they needed to purchase. Whether it is a tankful of gas, a cart full of groceries, or a new appliance, we are often amazed at what we must pay for the necessities of life. And in a much grander way, consider the cost God paid to demonstrate His love to us; it cost Him the life of His only begotten Son. In order for us to restored back to what we were before Adam fell, God’s only choice was to offer His Son as a sacrifice for our sin. And He did that only because He loved us that much. What a high price to pay so that God could let us know how much He truly loved us. We may be amazed at the high price of things we need to buy today, but it all pales in comparison to the high price paid for our salvation. So, as you consider the high cost of that next purchase, allow your mind also to consider the high price that God paid for our salvation. It was a demonstration of His great love for us. Rejoice that He loved you that much!
