“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:” John 11:25

Many in our world today have made it their goal to pursue “the good life.” And for each who determines to do that, the definition of “the good life” can vary. For some, it is defined by obtaining wealth, others seek to obtain status, while still others see satisfying relationships as the definition of “the good life.” But no matter how it is defined, the goal is to obtain all that can be obtained in this life and to make this life as self-gratifying as it can possibly be. However, according to God’s word, true life is not found in things or in people; it is found in a Person, the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the beginning of life here, and He is the fulfillment of everlasting life when this earthly life is done. He is the only One who can give hope here and give hope after the grave. So, don’t be fooled into believing “the good life” comes through your own efforts, through what you can achieve on your own. Don’t be deceived into thinking that this life is all that there is and that you must get all you can while you are here. Seek true life in the giver of life, and enjoy a quality of life, both here and in eternity, that this world can never provide.
