“For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.”
Isaiah 54:10

If there is one thing that is certain in life, it is that things change. Nothing stays the same forever. We see it in the seasons of the year, in Northeast Ohio, we see it in the weather, as it changes daily and sometimes by the hour. We see it in physical appearance of our earth, and although we may not like to admit it, we see it in the mirror each day as we get a little older. Everything changes…except one thing, and that is God’s love for us. God’s love is the only stable thing that exists in this world. Though all things around us change, God has promised that His love for us will be just as strong today and a thousand years from now as it was the first day He loved us. The kindness and the peace that result from His love are constants in our lives. And for those who know Him, we can wake each day not having to wonder if God loves us today or if today will be the day that we will fall out of His love. Instead, we can rest in that love. God’s kindness will always be shown to us, even in the darkest of times. There is really nothing we can depend on in this world, but we can forever rest in the knowledge that God’s love for us is eternal; it will never change.
