“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
Isaiah 55:11

When we are going through a difficult time, there is nothing that can provide comfort quite like the word of a friend, to let us know that they care, to let us know that they are concerned, and to let us know that they are available to provide whatever we might need. And as comforting as that is to us in our time of need, in a much grander way, that is what God’s word is to us. The Bible is God’s book of comfort to us. It is God coming alongside to let us know that He is there, that He cares, and that He will provide whatever we need in our times of difficulty. No matter what we are going through, we can always find a verse that addresses that particular concern. And because it contains the words of the Almighty God, He has unlimited power to provide the comfort that He promises. And so, whatever promises are made always fulfilled; whatever comfort is promised is always provided. Are you going through a difficulty? Do you need the words of comfort that only a friend can provide? Seek out the words of your greatest friend. Find God’s promises of comfort, hope in His word, and rest in the assurance of those promises.
