“Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am.”
Communication in this day and age is faster and more convenient than ever before. Cell phones and the internet have completely revolutionized the way that we communicate with one another. In a matter of seconds, we have the capability to make contact with someone who is half a world away; we can even make a video connection with them if we choose to. And yet, as amazing as all of that is, we have had the capability to communicate like that since the creation of the world. It has always been God’s desire to be in fellowship and communicate with us; that was His overriding intent when He made us. And for those who know Him, God has given to us the wonderful privilege of prayer. Prayer makes it possible for us to speak with Him and commune with Him, no matter where we are, no matter what time day or night, no matter what struggle we may be going through. And every time we call, God is there, and He pays attention to every word that we say. We have been given the marvelous privilege of communicating with our heavenly Father. Take full advantage of God’s invitation to call upon Him; make prayer an essential part of your daily activity.
